Safari 4 Hidden Preferences

Note: The following instructions apply to the Mac OS X version of Safari 4. If you are on Windows, I have written up some fairly convoluted instructions that require resetting your Safari preferences. See Changing Hidden Preferences in Safari 4 Public Beta on Windows if that interests you.

Setting Preferences

You can set the preferences described in this article by opening the Terminal application (in /Applications/Utilities) and typing:

defaults write com.apple.Safari [PreferenceKey] -bool NO

Reverting the Redesigned Toolbar

defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSafari4IncludeToolbarRedesign -bool NO              

Reverting “Tabs on Top” Behavior

defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSafari4TabBarIsOnTop -bool NO
